Card Playing Day!

The earliest records mentioning playing cards are from the ninth century, during the Chinese Tang Dynasty. Oddly enough, playing cards finally reached Europe in the late fourteenth century, most likely from Egypt!

Old-fashioned card games have fallen out of favor and been replaced with more modern video games and toys. At this time of year, when all ages are intermingling during the holidays, connect over traditional card playing games such as Go Fish, Old Maid, or Spoons!

Playing card games with loved ones makes memories, spurs conversations, and encourages friendly competition. So break out your old dusty decks and start shuffling!
