Cereal Day is a special day dedicated to one of America’s most popular breakfast items! Cereal was first produced in the 1800’s as a health food and was very different than what we know it as today. Originally, cereal was composed of little nuggets of bran that were thought to regulate meat heavy diets. It wasn’t until the 1930’s that cereal would take on the sweetness we associate it with today.

Celebrate today by having your favorite bowl of cereal for breakfast this morning! Another way to celebrate is trying something new with your cereal. What about using a different kind of cereal to make a sweet treat? Combine the cereal with melted marshmallows to create your own version of Rice Krispie treats!
