Encourage a Young Writer Day!

Convenient access to online entertainment discourages the pursuit of hobbies. The convenience of food discourages potential chefs. What may be even worse than the abundance of distractions is how easy the internet makes it to compare ourselves to others. Now, someone with a passion is more likely to see others outperform them, feel overwhelmed, and throw in the towel.

The stars of this day are young writers—the potential J.K. Rowlings and Stephen Kings of the future— but considering the information above, they might need a little encouragement. If you know a young person who shows signs of being a good writer, or even if they don’t, today is a good day to give them a journal, a writing challenge, or a good book, since reading skills develop writing skills. Considering this last point, this is one of many good reasons to read to your child regularly! Reward them for practicing their writing by praising their hard work, and make sure they know that they deserve to feel proud for doing their best!

We invite prospective parents to drop on by any of our preschool locations nationwide and see why Childcare Network is more than just a day care.
