Flashlight Day!

It’s no coincidence that National Flashlight Day is on the same day as the Winter Solstice. After all, it’s the darkest day of the year, having the fewest hours of sunlight! Do you know what that means? It means that after today, the days will increasingly get longer. Thank goodness!

Fortunately, winter isn’t the season for thunderstorms, so the power is less likely to go out. If it does, we hope you have a fireplace! Still, for adventures out into the dark, icy nights, flashlights are handy-dandy.

Even indoors, they’re a childhood essential inside a blanket tent, pillow fort, or for reading under the covers. But if we had to pick a favorite type of flashlight—it would have to be a book light!
