Today is a day dedicated to all the amazing Grandparents out there. While grandparents have been known to spoil their grandchildren, today we get to spoil them!
Grandparents Day became an official American holiday in 1978. The person to thank for the idea of Grandparents Day is Marian Lucille Herndon McQuade, a West Virginian who envisioned it being a day dedicated to spending time with our families.
There are many ways to celebrate Grandparents Day but the most important part is spending time together! If you don’t live close enough to spend time with your Grandparents, you can always send them a card to let them know you’re thinking about them or give them a call to catch up.
