These books are carefully selected by our education specialists to use a variety of experience to connect emerging language and literacy with social-emotional development.

This month, our Infant through 2 year olds classrooms are reading The Pout-Pout Fish by Deborah Diesen. They will swim along with the pout-pout fish as he discovers that being glum and spreading "dreary wearies" isn't really his destiny. Bright ocean colors and playful rhyme come together in this fun fish story that's sure to turn even the poutiest of frowns upside down.

The 3 year old to school aged classrooms are reading I Am Peace by Susan Verde. When the world feels chaotic, this book will help your child find their peace within through an accessible mindfulness practice.

Stayed tuned for some more reading fun! Along with each book, several book-related activities are provided to reinforce the social-emotional skill. Follow-up questions are also included as well to assist with reading comprehension.

We invite prospective parents to drop on by any of our preschool locations nationwide and see why Childcare Network is more than just a day care.
