Respect for Parents Day!

By: Kate Quattlebaum

Today is about appreciating parents everywhere for their selfless commitment to their children. Respect for Parents day is a great time to unify our families by recognizing the leadership role parents have.

There are several ways to bring more respect into your home. Start with setting an example by being respectful to those around you. Praise respectful behavior when it occurs and let them know how much it means to you. Also, set realistic expectations. Respect is a trait that must be learned, and sometimes emotions and hormones can cause disrespectful behavior. Don’t let it discourage you, discuss your expectations so they know what is expected.

Commemorate today by practicing respect. If you’re with your child demonstrate how to be respectful to other people. You could also spend time with your parents and show them your respect for all they have done for you by making them a card or cooking them dinner.

We invite prospective parents to drop on by any of our preschool locations nationwide and see why Childcare Network is more than just a day care.
