Calling all bookworms, book collectors, and scholastic savants. Today is the day to curl up and enjoy a good book, it’s Read a Book Day!

Research shows that reading can be a benefit both socially and for your health. Reading frequently can reduce stress and improve memory by stimulating brain activity. It can improve social skills as well-read people have been shown to be more empathetic.

Whether you prefer fiction or nonfiction, love stories or mysteries, there are several ways to celebrate Read a Book Day! Join a local book club to stay motivated to read all year long. Visit your local library with your family and sign up for a library card.
